Sentinel Angelo Schmitt: Beach Art.
Sentinel Angelo Schmitt:
“Vans invited me to experience joel tudors version of an outstanding event at the cote basque this september. As a passionate surfer and fan of weird surfboard design and mid length boards i have to admit it was mindblowing. All the invited surfer from England,France,USA, and Australia showed some fantastic surfing on heavy material. i order to give something back to this event i decided to collect trash around the beaches in Biarritz to build all of the 16 invited surfers. I had to work at night ,as the tide was low and it was easier to collect. During the day i slowley started building the different characters i have met during the event. As each dude is different i had to find 16 different `heads `in order to do it right. small pieces , such as eyes, mouth , nose and hair are easy to find - it´s the head whish is difficult to find. After all , i only had time for 3 days. When finished i exposed the figures to the outside world and made the surfers pick their own favorit character. that was the best part , as people like alex knost, jared mell and gato heroi really took their time to pick their look alikes. inspired by my son and two thirds ambassodor tay schmitt it was a blast. the figures are featured in the two thirds store in san sebastian, calle aldmar 38.”
